SLI (Subscriber Line Information) – The Subscriber line information populates the white pages in the telephone directory indicating who is responsible for each line and the address where it terminates.

 

Switch Provisioning – Is a term used to describe the technique of entering a user in a phone switch. For a user to be able to use his/her phone, they must first be entered into the routing table of the switch to indicate which port he/she belongs.

 

CNAM (Caller Name Identification) / LIDB (Line Information Database) - Caller Name Identification or also known as “name caller id” and indicates to the recipient of the call from whom the call is coming. The SS7 Line Information Database contains all valid telephone and calling card numbers in your region and has the necessary information to perform billing validation.

 

E-911 (Enhanced 911) – Enhanced 911 is used by public safety personnel. With E-911, the telephone number of the caller is transmitted to the public safety public access point where it is cross referenced with an address database that is provided by the phone company to determine the caller’s location. That information is then displayed for the emergency dispatcher to direct the public safety personnel responding to the emergency.

 

LNP (Local Number Portability) – Local Number Portability was mandated by the telecom act of 1996 to level the playing field between the Incumbent Local exchange Carriers and the Competitive Local exchange Carriers. Therefore it is the carrier’s responsibility to keep the routing tables updated with accurate information about its customers. This feature enables a customer to change phone companies and take his/her number with them.

 

Work-Flow Management – Is the automation of complicated processes to ensure that the work in done in a uniform fashion which make possible an easier method of supporting those processes. In addition it also provides the opportunity to develop a user-friendly interface for the system.

 

Online Usage Detail- Is used to provide the User with up to date information on their account usage. It is used to access the details of calls made, or even to analyze the data in a spreadsheet. In addition, the customer can view past monthly statements which provide them with a great convenience.
